The accident occurred at around 5:10 a.m. between Nauli Harnathpur and Pal villages under the Wazirganj Police Station area. According to officials, the double-decker bus was carrying 50 passengers and was heading towards Kashmiri Gate in Delhi when it lost control near Nauli Harnathpur and overturned on the expressway.
Soon after receiving information about the incident, ambulances deployed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority at the Vankota Toll Plaza, along with emergency service ambulances and police personnel, rushed to the scene. Rescue and relief operations were immediately launched, and all injured passengers were shifted to the Community Health Centre in Wazirganj.
After initial treatment, five seriously injured passengers were referred to the Medical College, while several others were discharged after receiving medical care. According to Dr. Rajkumar, a physician at the Wazirganj Community Health Centre, a total of 21 injured persons were brought to the hospital. He stated that Ali Ahmad, 40, and Samar, 9, sustained severe injuries to their legs and were referred to a higher medical facility for better treatment. The remaining injured passengers were treated and discharged as required.
Police reached the accident site soon after the incident and supervised relief and rescue operations. The latest mishap on the Ganga Expressway once again highlighted concerns over road safety and driver fatigue, as another serious accident within Badaun district left dozens injured and caused life-altering injuries to two passengers.
